English Language Training

The TransQual East of England English Language Training Project is an initiative of The Learning Partnership Bedfordshire and Luton Ltd and is funded by the East of England Development Agency (EEDA) with support through the European Social Fund (ESF).

The English Language Training project will focus on those individuals from the migrant worker and black and minority ethnic communities who are in employment but who have little or no command of the English language.

We will provide the opportunity to access Pre- ESOL or 'beginners' level English language training courses which are work-related allowing migrant workers with little English to gain an understanding of workplace processes including health and safety, communication and interaction.

The project will offer full guidance and support to individuals participating in the Pre-ESOL courses and it will offer access to Tutor Support and Business Management led programmes at Level 3.

The process includes:

  • Full Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) support throughout the course,
  • Workplace or community based Pre-ESOL course delivery,
  • A coherent transition route to further English language or other learning opportunities.

All English language training courses provided through this project are free of charge.
