Eligibility Check
The Migrant Worker Qualification Conversion project is funded by the European Social Fund and the Learning and Skills Council, so we need to check that you qualify for this totally free service.
To be eligible for this free qualification comparison service you must be aged 19 plus and be employed for more than 8 hours a week and live in the East of England region. If you come from a country that is outside of the European Union you must have an ‘Indefinite Leave to Remain’ stamp in your passport.
Your TransQual Adviser will ask to see proof of your eligibility.

We can only compare qualifications awarded by an accredited institution within the national qualification framework of the country in which it is awarded, and to do this the Adviser must see a copy of the original certificates.

Your Initial Interview
The comparison process starts with an initial interview with a qualified TransQual Adviser who will ask questions about your qualifications and your current employment, as well as look at any other Learning and Skills needs you may have for example, English Language Training requirements.
You will need to bring a copy your qualification certificates along to an interview, as well as your passport or European ID card and details of your employment (a wage slip or a copy of your contract).
This interview will be conducted in English but you are welcome to bring along an English speaking friend or relative if you feel you need some level of translation
Qualification Comparison
Your TransQual Adviser will take photocopies of your certificates, and any transcripts, and these will be used in the comparison process by our trained staff members who will access the UK NARIC databases to compare your qualification to a UK national qualification framework equivalent. They will send a letter with the details of the comparison to your Adviser who will make an appointment to see you again.

Follow-Up
When the comparison process is completed TransQual East of England will issue a letter confirming the UK national qualification framework equivalent, and your TransQual Adviser will ask to see you again in order to fully explain the results.
